**Amouage Reception** opens with dry citrus lit by a spicy spark: bergamot and mandarin feel bright but never sweet, while pink pepper adds a transparent warmth. After a few minutes the composition gathers itself and grows denser, bringing forward a cool powdery iris beside a soft rose. Incense draws a fine smoky line through the heart, giving the fragrance an architectural, almost graphic poise. Saffron does not dominate here; it works more like a golden shadow, binding the flowers to the resins. In the base, the scent settles closer to the skin as amber and sandalwood turn the trail velvety and patchouli adds a dry depth.
