Montale
Full Incense
About
Some older legends hold that it wasn't actually an apple that led Adam & Eve into temptation in that primordial garden, but a plum instead. We're no scholars, but a few moments with the seductive elegance of Dark Purple just might convince you. Gourmand floral notes and a dark, earthy base of musk and patchouli all work to frame a top note of plum so luscious and mouthwatering that you might be inclined to break a few rules too. Sophistication has never felt so indulgent. Notes Plum, fresh orange, rose petals, geranium bourbon, patchouli, red fruit cocktail, grey amber, teak wood, white musk
**Montale Full Incense** opens in a dry, almost liturgical way: resins rise in a transparent plume of smoke with a faint peppery edge. At the start, the cool sheen of elemi and the spicy sharpness of nutmeg keep the composition from turning heavy. After a few minutes, the incense grows denser and deeper, joined by dry cedar and an earthy stroke of patchouli. On skin it remains composed and nearly monochrome: not a sweet oriental, but a strict resinous line. The base softens with the creamy woodiness of sandalwood and the warm shadow of labdanum, yet never slips into sticky vanilla. The sillage is moderate and close to the body, so **Full Incense** sounds especially convincing in cool weather and in quiet evening spaces.
