Montale Blue Amber (2006)

Montale

Blue Amber

About

Blue Amber smells dry and spicy at first, then warms into a soft amber-resin base. Bergamot, coriander, and patchouli keep it structured, while vanilla and labdanum smooth the finish. It suits calm evenings and cooler air.

Montale Blue Amber opens dry and spicy: bergamot and geranium create a cool, slightly sharp entrance. After a few minutes, the scent softens, and coriander, vetiver, and patchouli become clearer in the heart, building a woody-spiced, lightly powdery texture. In the base, amber, vanilla, and labdanum form a warm resinous cloud without excessive sweetness. Based on reviews, projection is noticeable at first and then turns softer in the drydown, staying closer to the skin. Longevity is described as solid, with a long amber trail. This is a unisex composition for evenings and cooler weather, when a calm, composed scent feels right.
