Rien

About

"Do not believe what you first see... under the demureness of the name, the spicy savour of blackcurrant bays and the musky notes of blonde suede. Rien is a second skin perfume, a perfume that clings to the body and perseveres in the mind. Like venial sin on the verge of becoming mortal, irresistible and resolutely pervasive. As light as mohair and as precious as cashmere, the fragrance envelops skin with a powdered caress. It has the meticulous elegance and hypnotic beauty of a modern Dorian Gray, in a feminine/masculine version. An entrancing fragrance that leaves an unforgettable imprint. Utter charm, utterly charismatic. The vanilla/opium accord of the drydown reinforces the addiction. Rien is an essential. — A perfumer’s confession." - A Note from the Brand

**Rien** opens with a dry, almost rough burst of spice, where bergamot feels cold and slightly bitter rather than juicy. After a few minutes, incense smoke rises together with a dense leather edge, like an old jacket warmed in a room where resins are slowly burning. Iris lays a powdery veil over the composition, yet it does not soften it so much as give it distance and a sharp, graphic line. In the heart, a dark rose appears without sweetness, more stem and shadow than petal. The base turns resinous and earthy, with patchouli, oakmoss and labdanum creating the sensation of dry warmth on skin. Its trail stays close, but leaves a distinct imprint of leather, smoke and ambered darkness. It suits those who like tension between polish and grit, and it wears especially beautifully in cool weather or after dusk.
