**Iris Poudree Limited Edition 2018** opens with a cool cloud of powder, like the thinnest veil settling over clean skin. At first there is a soft violet haze and a dry citrus spark, but they quickly give way to the iris heart. The iris here is not lipstick-like: it feels velvety, slightly chalky and beautifully even, with no sharp edges. Rose and jasmine lend a gentle skin warmth, while aldehydes create the impression of pressed fabric and air moving around the body. After an hour it sits closer to the skin and turns creamier, with sandalwood, white musk and tonka forming a soft, almost cashmere backdrop. Vanilla appears very quietly, not as sweetness but as a rounded finish to the trail. It suits days when you want powder, composure and a sense of inner quiet.
