Violet Leaf
Violet leaf smells green, metallic, and watery, like snapped stems, cucumber peel, cool air, and crushed leaves with a faint leathered sheen. It is very different from violet flower: less powder, more sap and shadow. In perfume it appears in green florals, woody aromatics, leathery violets, modern fresh compositions, and some masculine classics, where it adds sleekness and tension. Violet leaf makes iris more austere and citrus more angular. It is crucial to Dior Fahrenheit, where its hot-metal green signature became iconic, and beautifully used in Balenciaga Paris, where it gives the floral heart a cool, tailored, almost architectural line.
