Benzoin
Benzoe riecht warm, harzig und tröstlich, wie Vanille im Schatten von Amber, poliertes Holz und der weiche Rauch von Tempelharzen. Die Note besitzt eine balsamische Süße mit Anklängen von Karamell, Mandel und Gewürzen, bleibt aber eher geschmeidig als essbar. In Parfum ist Benzoe wichtig für Amber-, orientalische, gourmandige, holzige und Weihrauchfamilien, wo sie Kanten abrundet und dem Fond ein leuchtendes, umhüllendes Gefühl verleiht. Sie macht Patchouli sanfter und Zitrusnoten im Ausklang samtiger. Prägend ist sie in Guerlain Shalimar, wo sie den berühmten Vanille-Amber-Akkord vertieft, und in Diptyque Benjoin Bohème, wo das Harz weich, rauchig und still luxuriös wirkt.
